This 89 325i is the best running E30 I have owned. 2 previous ones are currently being driven by my 2 sons. 3rd one I recently sold. Automatic Transmission (that shifts perfectly) Bronze Metallic exterior with a tan interior. Since owning I've replaced: Front struts (both) Rear shocks (both) Air intake breather hose Rack and pinion boots (both sides) Front brake pads (both sides) Front brake pad wear sensor Rear brake pad wear sensor (purchased but not yet installed) Window tint (all 5 windows - as dark as legally allowable) Throttle position sensor/switch Intake manifold water outlet gasket Thermostat and housing gasket Fan clutch Fuel pump (in tank) Exhaust (rear factory OEM half) Fog lamp bulbs (and several other bulbs) Oil changes (of course) New battery (01-07-08) The timing belt is the key to these cars performance and longevity. I have inspected it and it appears to still be in excellent condition, not currently needing replacement. These cars come with many standard features that are options on most American models. The power windows, power door/trunk lock system all works. The sun roof is manual (only one I've seen that's not electrical) and functions perfectly. The rear seat windows flip open. The air conditioner blows super cold. The tires are in really good shape with probably 75% tread life remaining. The car is not perfect though. The driver's seat shows wear thus the seat covers. The body has several small imperfections typical for a car 19 years old, but no rust. The windshield has a crack on the bottom which does not affect vision or DOT safety inspection, which is current through 07-08. This car is mechanically in great shape and should easily continue to handle the stress of being a Houston daily driver. I really enjoy owning and maintaining these E30 machines. These were / are the backbone of BMW's history of mechanical reliability.
