OBO - Rare Chrysler New Yorker 331
Hemi 2 door sedan. The Hemi was introduced by Chrysler in 1951.
In 1954 the Firepower engine was installed in the several high-end
Chrysler models. The Imperial was a different body on the New
Yorker frame and drivetrain. The Hemi was desired for its remarkable durability
as well as increased efficiency. The brakes on this 54 will
need overhauling, but the rebuilt engine is as strong as ever.
This New Yorker is pretty nice, with an older interior restoration of
the seats and carpet. The original dash is good as is the
headliner. There is some rust that will need tending in the
trunk pan, but the body is solid. Chrome is good. The car
runs and drives well. The transmission is a fluid drive automatic
- which means you use a cluth through three gears into Drive.
Odometer includes a trip meter. It has original wheels, a new generator
and new fuel pump and filter. The air cleaner has been refurbished.
It has the original radiator and fan. Serial # 76554288.
Please call Tom for more information and photos. The car
is located in Rock Hill, SC where it is available for inspection
by appointment. Call 803-370-6354 or email at Wheels@TheMotorClub21.com This car is
an easy 45 minute drive from Lowe's Motor Speedway During the Auto
Fair.
